Inspired by the dystopian series The Hunger Games, StoryBytes Media invited students to the Before the Games escape room. Ranging from Miami Dade College students to attendees of the 2026 ProCon College Media Association Convention based in New York, participants immersed themselves in the fictional world of Panem where their first amendment rights were restricted.

Through uncovering cryptic messages hidden in invisible ink to match Supreme Court cases by a single letter, participants were challenged to confront how easily rights can be lost when citizens stop questioning power.
